A thrilling winter, spring or summer Iceland break at a lauded central Reykjavik hotel - includes travel, a Golden Circle & Laugarvatn Fontana spa tour, plus optional tours of the Northern Lights, the South Coast and whale watching

  • Set right in the heart of Reykjavik's main shopping street, Laugavegur, the calm Alda Hotel combines luxe amenities with Nordic style. This 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice pick boasts panoramic city and sea views and Scandi, seafaring vibes thanks to its ship-like timber flooring and nautical colouring. Step outside and you're in the middle of Laugavegur, the epicentre of Rekjavik's dining, drinking and shopping scenes.

  • The starring feature of your winter, spring or summer escape is seeing hot springs, geysers and waterfalls on an exhilarating Golden Circle tour, followed by a dip in the warm waters of Laugarvatn Fontana, a lakeside natural spa with tranquil geothermal waters. In winter, you'll also embark on a magical tour to seek out the elusive Northern Lights dancing across the sky, and spot constellations through an astronomical telescope.

  • In all seasons on offer, you can choose to include a surreal South Coast tour which will have you gazing upon two of Iceland's most beautiful waterfalls, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss, as well as exploring bewtiching black sand beaches, made so by their surrounding volcanoes. A soul-stirring scene, watching majestic whales and dolphins frolicking off the coast is another tour choice year-round. And, when you return to the hotel, you'll have access to the outdoor hot tub for getting toasty.

Good to know

The Northern Lights are of course a naturally occurring phenomenon, so while we hope you’ll see them (and we'll cross our fingers for you), we cannot guarantee they will oblige.

Please note that the Northern Lights can be observed up until about the end of April, and then again from mid-August, and contrary to popular belief, the end of August is actually a great time to spot them. The official dates for the midnight sun are 16 to 29 June, but you can experience "no darkness" from May to early August.
