Explore the ancient wilds and astounding temples of Cambodia, then whizz across to vibrant Vietnam for an overnight cruise in UNESCO-listed Halong Bay - includes all travel, breakfast throughout and excursions

Day 1: UK - Phnom Penh

Set off from the UK to Cambodia, arriving in Phnom Penh after a night on board. On arrival, spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2: Phnom Penh

Enjoy a free morning to sleep in or start exploring, then spend your afternoon being introduced to the city’s sights - the National Museum, the Silver Pagoda, the Royal Palace and Wat Phnom will all give you an insight into the cultural and spiritual history of this city. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 3: Phnom Penh - Kompong Cham - Kompong Thom

Journey by road to Kompong Cham this morning, a colonial-era town which sits next to the Mekong River. Wander the impressive Wat Nokor temple, then drive to Kompong Thom, visiting the 11th-century Wat Kohear Nokor en route, where you can meet local monks and villagers. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 4: Kompong Thom - Sambor Prei Kuk - Siem Reap

Observe rural Cambodian life en route to the 17th-century Sambor Prei Kuk temple, an other-worldly collection of ancient structures in the middle of the forest, only recently discovered and thought to be the oldest surviving examples of Khmer architecture. After exploring, continue to Siem Reap for the evening. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 5: Siem Reap

Start exploring the Angkor Temple Complex today, with visits to Ta Prohm, which, unlike its sisters, has been overcome by nature, the sculpted deities and Banteay Kdei, the Lake of Srah Srang and many smaller, yet no less impressive temples. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 6: Siem Reap

Today, set off again to Cambodia’s most famous sight and lay eyes on Angkor Thom, Bayon, the Royal Palace and more in the morning. In the afternoon, enjoy a spectacular sunset from Angkor Wat's mountain temple of Phnom Bakheng after admiring its incredible ancient walls. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 7: Siem Reap - Kbal Spean - Banteay Srei - Siem Reap

Spend a tranquil morning hiking along the River of a Thousand Lingas (Kbal Spean), so-called thanks to the rock carvings which still remain, and once blessed the water on its way to the city. In the afternoon, explore another enthralling temple - Banteay Srei. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Siem Reap - Hanoi

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Vietnam. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 9: Hanoi

Delve into Vietnam’s capital on a half-day morning city tour, which will take you to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, dedicated to the eponymous Prime Minister, his former residence, the One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 10: Hanoi - Halong Bay

Journey to Halong Bay, ready for your bucket-list cruise around this UNESCO-listed wonder. Enjoy lunch as you sail around the bay, admiring the stunning limestone inlets and azure waters. While onboard you’ll take a vegetable-carving lesson with the chef and try your luck at night-time squid fishing with the crew. (Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner)

Day 11: Halong Bay - Hanoi

Awake to an early-morning Tai Chi lesson on deck before breakfast. Spend an hour or so on Titov Island to garner breathtaking 360-degree views from its peak and savour a swim in the refreshing waves, before returning to land and heading back to Hanoi. (Meals: early breakfast, breakfast)

Day 12: Hanoi

Relax at the hotel or spend the day shopping for some last-minute souvenirs before heading to the airport for your flight home, around 9pm. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 13: Hanoi - UK

Depart from Hanoi in the early hours, and spend the night on board before arriving back in the UK in the morning.
