  • Exclusive guest list: Enjoy a visit to The Royal Oak and you’ll be following in the footsteps of Her Majesty the Queen herself, who enjoyed a spot of lunch here when she visited Welshpool in 2010. As the former manor house of the Earl of Powis, before the hotel became an important coaching inn in 1927, she’s not the only VIP to have passed through these historic doors.

  • Historic charm: Join the impressive roster and you’ll find a Grade II-listed design that dates back to the 18th century, plus plenty of modern charm. It also takes its hospitality seriously, serving up locally sourced ingredients and hand-pulled beers and ales by a working fireplace.

  • Idyllic setting: As you’d expect of a former coaching inn, the hotel sits on the town’s main route and provides easy access to the Severn Valley, Offa’s Dyke and Snowdonia National Park beyond.

Please note that some dining and leisure facilities may be closed. Please call the hotel before you travel to find out if facilities have reopened.
