Explore Iceland in Northern Lights or Midnight Sun season, with an epic Golden Circle and horseback riding tour and Blue Lagoon excursion – includes flights, organic breakfast and optional tours

  • Facing Mount Esja from a trendy address in Reykjavik’s up-and-coming downtown area, Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel combines the cosy with the contemporary and overwhelming sustainable, where every little element is eco-friendly. This Telegraph-recommended hotel serves up healthy organic food for breakfast - so you won't be breaking any resolutions on this trip - and cosy bedrooms come complete with decadent four-posters beds splashed with warming furs.

  • Having received a Green Globe Certificate, the highest commendation for sustainability worldwide, and a 2019 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Award, this truly is the perfect eco stay. You're sure to get friendly with Iceland's ecology on this trip, too, thanks to the Golden Circle excursion (included on all but one offer), which will have you wandering snow-blanketed landscapes in winter and bright, green lands in summer to see some of the country's most enchanting sights. You'll top this adventure off with a horseback ride through the surrounds - an unforgettable end to an unforgettable day.

  • On top of this, visits in winter will have you cruising to spot the elusive Northern Lights from the water, and you'll also get to spend some time basking in the bone-warming waters of Iceland's most famous thermal baths - the Blue Lagoon. Pamper yourself silly with a face mask while you're absorbing the water's mineral properties. There's also the option to enjoy a whale- and dolphin-watching tour, so you'll really have every chance to make the most of this enthralling isle.

Good to know

The Northern Lights are a naturally-occurring phenomenon and whilst we hope you'll get to see them, we can't guarantee they'll oblige.

Please note that the Northern Lights can be observed up until the end of April, and then again from mid August - contrary to popular belief, the end of August is actually a great time to spot them. The official dates for the midnight sun are 16 to 29 June, but you can experience "no darkness" from May to early August.

Please note that the hotel only has double, four-poster beds. Twin beds are not available.
