Property details

Tucked neatly between Amsterdam’s picturesque canals sits an artsy hotel full of character, including breakfast and more.
  • A boutique gem: Set your sights on Hotel Mercier, a thoroughly charming abode with buckets of history and character. Once a community shelter founded by Hélène Mercier, the building has now transformed into a bohemian boutique, where woven tapestries line the walls and Art Deco accents add a touch of glamour.

  • Café Ons Huis: From dawn till dusk, the vibrant Ons Huis café and restaurant aims to delight with their breakfast, lunch and dinner menu. Try some local dishes such as Dutch ‘bitterbals’, and wash it all down with a signature cocktail (the Unicorn-tini caught our eye). The café also hosts a bottomless brunch on the weekends.

  • Very vintage: The rooms are just as stylish as the rest of the hotels; designer tapestries hang from the walls, metallic lampshades and retro speakers sit on the shelves, and colourful cushions are sprinkled on the bed. In your en-suite, you’ll find a walk-in rainfall shower for a long, indulgent soak.

You’re right in the heart of Amsterdam’s iconic Jordaan district here, among the intricate network of canals which are always worth strolling around. Better yet, why not hire a bike and explore the city like a local? These are available from the hotel’s reception.

In between pancakes and stroopwafels, soak up come culture at the Rijksmuseum or Van Gogh Museum, before sipping on a cool beer at the Heineken factory and bracing yourself for the rather moving Anne Frank huis.
