Bear witness to the shifting landscapes of South Africa, from colourful Cape Town to the rolling Winelands and everything in between - includes travel, an unforgettable Blue Train journey, safari games drives and more

Days 1-4: Cape Town

Crowned by the flat-topped beauty that is Table Mountain (and smaller sibling, Lion’s Head), Cape Town is more than just a pretty face; its creative soul shines through in a rich arts and culture scene, a jam-packed festival calendar and an innovative culinary landscape. After being greeted at their airport and taken to your hotel, The Onyx, you’ll have four days to float around and see all the sights, including the magnificent Boulders Beach. (Meals: breakfast)

Days 5-7 Stellenbosch

You’ll be leaving Cape Town behind and making your way to Stellenbosch, which sits in the famed Cape Winelands roughly 50 kilometres outside the city. You’ll check in to River Manor Boutique Hotel & Spa, which sits on the banks of the Eerste River. What else would you do with your time here in the Cape Winelands, other than take a wine tour or enjoy a tasting session at one of the area's famed wine estates? There are plenty of estates to discover nearby, some of which include cheese and charcuterie tastings too. To take in the surrounding natural beauty, head into Jonkershoek Nature Reserve - it's primed for hiking, biking and swimming. (Meals: breakfast)

Day 8: Stellenbosch - Blue Train journey

This morning, you’ll transfer back to Cape Town station, ready for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. One of the world's most luxurious trains, the Blue Train offers fine dining, first-class service and wood-panelled interiors - your 1,600-kilometre journey to Pretoria will fly by. Underfloor heating, deluxe air-conditioned suites and an attentive butler service are some of the highlights on board as you take in the impressive dramatic scenery. You’ll receive a suite orientation from your butler before nibbling on high tea, then spend the afternoon enjoying the views and your suite before dinner is served, followed by drinks, cognacs and cigars in the club car. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 9: Blue Train journey & Kimberley

As you fly through one South African landscape to another, you’ll make a pit-stop at Kimberley. Known primarily as a diamond mine in the 19th century, you’ll visit the Open Mine Museum and to view interesting and historical sites. Return to the train for a glass of sherry served in a commemorative glass, then relax before dinner and more delectable treats. (Meals: all-inclusive)

Day 10: Blue Train journey & Pretoria

Your epic Blue Train journey has come to an end at Pretoria, where you’ll be whisked to Court Classique Suite Hotel for one night. Steeped in history, this city is full of gracious architecture surrounded by leafy suburbs where multiculturalism is now thriving. The city is still growing, and it’s certainly a sight to behold. (Meals: breakfast)

Days 11 & 12: Mabula

Leaving the city behind, you’ll be taken to your luxury tented accommodation for the ultimate in safari experiences. Safari Plains is set against the backdrop of the magnificent Waterberg Mountains, and the spectacularly wild bushlands are yours to explore on safari games drives for two days. Will you spot prowling lions, creeping leopards or lightning-fast cheetahs? The abundance of wildlife will take your breath away, as will the mesmerising sunsets over the tree-strewn landscapes. (Meals: full board)

Day 13: Mabula - UK

After breakfast, transfer to either Waterberg Area or Tambo International Airport for your flight back home. (Meals: breakfast)
